Legal
Privacy Policy
Effective Date: August 25, 2026
The Personal Professor (“we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through thepersonalprofessor.org (the “Site”), how we use it, and the choices you have.
This is a first-pass draft prepared for internal review, not a finalized legal document. Please have an attorney review this before it's published — particularly the sections marked in brackets, which need real details only you can supply. Given that some information described below may relate to a student under 18, this one in particular is worth a careful legal read before publishing.
Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us, primarily through the Contact form on this Site. Depending on which fields you fill in, this may include:
- Name
- Email address
- Phone number (optional)
- Student/education level, for tutoring inquiries
- Your primary reason for contacting us
- Any message or additional details you choose to share
- A resume, if you're inquiring about joining our team (see “How the Contact Form Works” below)
How the Contact Form Works
This Site's Contact form does not submit your information to our servers or store it in a database. Submitting the form opens a pre-filled email in your own email application, addressed to confirm this is the right inbox for form submissions — currently administration@thepersonalprofessor.org. The message is then sent directly from your device through your own email provider — no submission data passes through or is retained by this website.
Because of this, a resume selected through the “Submit a Resume” option is not actually transmitted by the form itself; our form's own on-page note already tells visitors this and asks them to attach the resume directly within the email that opens.
If this changes in the future — for example, if we add a server-side form or online payment processing — we will update this Privacy Policy to describe how that information is collected, used, and protected.
How We Use Information
We use the information you provide to respond to your inquiry, schedule a consultation, evaluate a job or internship application, or otherwise communicate with you about our tutoring services. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Cookies & Tracking
This Site does not use cookies or similar technologies for advertising or analytics, and does not currently integrate any third-party analytics or advertising tools.
Children's Privacy
Our tutoring services are intended for students of many ages, including minors. If you are a parent or guardian submitting information on behalf of a student under 13, you are consenting to that limited information (such as the student's grade level) being shared with us to arrange tutoring services, consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from a child without a parent or guardian's involvement.
Data Retention & Security
We retain the information you send us for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your inquiry or maintain our business records, and we take reasonable steps to protect it. No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your Choices & Rights
You may contact us at any time to ask what information we hold about you, or to request that we correct or delete it. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) or the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR); we will honor applicable requests to the extent required by law.
Third-Party Links
This Site may link to third-party websites — for example, our independent reviews on tutors.com. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third-party sites, and we encourage you to review their own policies.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Effective Date” above reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
